               New Class

This year, by the grace of Allah, 13 students have joined Jamia Ahmadiyya Canada
ranging from Canada, USA, and even Australia. In this introduction, the first year

students were asked “Why did you come to Jamia?” Here are their responses:

                Mahir Ahmad (FIJI)

“And let there always be among you a body of men who should invite to goodness and enjoin
virtue and forbid evil. And it is they who shall prosper”

My main purpose for coming to Jamia was to invite people towards the Supreme Being alone
and enjoy, as much as I can, the blessings of Khilafat. My Ahmadi friends told me that Huzooraa
loves Jamia students a lot. My parents also inspired me every day and motivated me to work for
the Jama’at as much as possible. As a result I feel, that Jamia is the best place for me.

               Arsalan Ahmad Arif (AUSTRALIA)

As a Waqf-e-Nau I have always thought of serving the Jama’at in some way, and as I grew up,
I stayed attached to the Jama’at and one plan led to another. One of the biggest reasons I came
to Jamia was because of the young missionaries; they shed light on this blessed pathway for
me. For me, the main reason was that I wanted to fulfill my Waqf to the best of my ability and I
thought that going to Jamia and becoming a missionary would be the best way because I would
get closer to my Creator and beloved Huzooraa.

               Labeeque Ahmad Majeed (Toronto, CANADA)

I have had many opportunities where I got to serve humanity in some way or another, and
found peace in those acts. Hence, I was searching for a career that would allow me to help
society and humanity at large. Even though there are many other paths that are helping and
serving humanity, but none have an everlasting effect on the world. Then, when I looked at
Jamia as an option, I liked what I would become but had some reservations regarding Jamia
lifestyle. I still have some reservations; however, I believe that what a missionary does brings
people together and establishes peace. I came here thinking that after these years of study, I
would be able to help the world in achieving peace.
