The institution of Jamia Ahmadiyya was established in 1906, by the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi (on whom be peace). He felt the need to create a school of religious education after the demise of two of his stalwart companions, Hazrat Maulawi Burhanuddin Jhelumi and Hazrat Maulawi Abdul-Karim Sialkoti.
