Jamia Ahmadiyya Canada is committed to fair admissions and considers every applicant on an individual basis, assessing both his
ability and suitability for the program. The past and predicted academic achievements of applicants is considered, along with
other evidence of the applicant's aptitude, intelligence, skills, interests, motivation and potential. Jamia's selection procedure
has been designed to select such applicants who can be most beneficial and effective as life-devotees and missionaries, after the
completion of their studies.
The Jamia admissions requirements and selection process has been outlined below.
Once the prospective student has sent an application form to Jamia, he has to successfully pass an entrance exam and an interview
determining his suitability for the field of studies offered at Jamia. The details of these admissions requirements are given below:
Candidates will have to pass an entrance exam based on the Waqf-e-Nau Syllabus (a religious-education course designed for students up to the age of 16).
This test will cover topics such as:
The attributes of Allah
The correct recitation, memorization and translation of the Holy Qur'an
Salāt (the 5 daily prayers)
Selected prayers from the Holy Qur'an and the traditions of the Holy Prophetsa
As part of the selection process, an interview of the candidate would be conducted by members of the Admissions Board, in order to determine his aptitude for Jamia.
In preparation of the admissions interview, candidates will have to complete the tasks detailed below. These will be reviewed by the Admissions Board at the time
of the interview:
Daily Journal: Candidates will have to complete a daily journal for at least four weeks prior to the interview. Candidates will be provided with the journal entry form in advance.
This journal aims to monitor the following areas of a candidate’s routine:
Offering of the Salat (5 daily prayers)
Recitation of the Holy Qur'an
Daily sleeping and waking routine
Physical fitness activities
Questionnaire: Candidates will be required to complete a questionnaire consisting of essay questions and addressing various scenarios and topics.
The purpose of this questionnaire is to determine the candidate’s insight and acumen. Generally, questions will focus on the following areas:
Life as a missionary
Student life at Jamia Ahmadiyya Canada
Personal views on matters of importance, such as education, moral training and propagation
Given below is a breakdown of the marks assigned to each of the aforementioned requirements.
Candidates will have to score at least 70% in each of the following criteria to be considered for admission:
Upon successful completion of the selection progress, the candidate's recommendation will be sent to Hazrat Khalīfatul-Masihaa for approval of admission to Jamia Ahmadiyya Canada.
